Why Should You Clean Your Well?

Well cleaning is a crucial step in maintaining water quality and protecting user health. Over time, various contaminants can accumulate in a well, including:

Sediment & Mud

Natural settling of sand, soil and particles can reduce well capacity and make water extraction harder.

Organic Material

Leaves, twigs and plant debris can fall into the well and begin to rot, causing unpleasant odours and cloudy water.

Bacteria & Microorganisms

Stagnant water and organic matter can promote the growth of bacteria and algae, posing a serious health risk.

Chemical Contamination

Rainwater can carry pesticides, fertilisers or other chemicals, especially if the well is in an agricultural area.

Unused Well

If a well is left unused for an extended period of time, the water stagnates and quickly loses quality — bacteria multiply and the water develops an unpleasant smell, taste and colour. Stagnant water is an ideal breeding ground for harmful microorganisms.

Surface Water Infiltration

Floods and heavy rainfall allow contaminated surface water to seep into the well, carrying mud, sand, chemicals and pathogenic microorganisms. Even a brief flood can permanently damage the quality of well water.

Benefits of regular well cleaning:

Clean Water

Ensures clean and safe water for drinking and other needs.

Preventing Breakdowns

Prevents pump blockages and increases water extraction efficiency.

Maintenance

Extends the lifespan of the well and reduces repair costs.

Filtration

Maintains the natural filtration capacity of the well.

Better Water Flow

Regular cleaning frees up well capacity and increases water flow — the pump operates more efficiently and the water supply becomes consistent and reliable.

Better Tasting Water

Removing sediment, organic matter and mineral deposits eliminates unpleasant odours and taste. The result is fresh, clean water just as it should be.

Well cleaning is recommended every two years, or more often if you notice changes in water quality such as cloudiness, unpleasant odour or reduced flow. Regular maintenance ensures safe, quality water for your family.

Submersible pump in operation

We lower the submersible pump to the bottom of the well. A high-pressure jet breaks up and lifts mud deposits, which the pump draws out. We continue until all the mud is gone, then perform disinfection. The process typically takes 2-4 hours depending on the level of contamination.
